Fresh and Clean Evergreen Content

Posted on April 16, 2012 by Nick Beske

Every week, there may be a different piece of content that is sending the most people to your website, from a simple Facebook status update to a time-sensitive article about breaking industry news. From week to week, these pieces can fade in relevance, slowly having less and less appeal. At the same time, you should have some perennial overachievers that send a sizable amount of visitors your way all the time. This is what is known as evergreen content and it is the backbone that supplies a steady stream of customers and lead opportunities. Don’t Let a Form Get in the Way of Your Profits

Posted on April 13, 2012 by Nick Beske

Sometimes even the smallest detail makes a difference in whether your inbound marketing spins like a top or can’t stand on its own two feet. For tons of marketers out there, their strategy is fine and they are producing great content, but there’s something separating their efforts from greatness. It’s something incredibly small, but it can send visitors to a website running away as soon as it rears its ugly head. What is this evil monster we’re talking about? It’s a registration form – that never-sexy, but absolutely necessary space on your website that a visitor has to fill out to get connected to you. At best, a form is an unobtrusive place for a person to leave their email address. At worst, it’s a documented interrogation, asking too many questions and getting way to personal. Before you blame the lack of conversions on your content or other part of your inbound marketing strategy, take a look at your forms and make sure they are as simple as they can be. Making it Personal with Twitter and Facebook

Posted on April 12, 2012 by Nick Beske

Everybody knows that you should make social networks like Twitter and Facebook a part of your inbound marketing strategy, but there is a pretty big mistake being made by even seasoned online veterans. When social media started coming into the spotlight, tons of apps came out to make a marketer’s job much easier, allowing the person to make a status update across multiple networks at the same time. Using one of these programs may sound great, but what you are doing actually has two distinct negative effects. Firstly, it doesn’t take into account that Facebook and Twitter are very different services and require a different type of status update. Secondly, if you are well connected to your followers, then you are sending them the exact same message twice or even more times. It may take more time, but your status updates should reflect the specific social network that you are posting on. Continue reading →

Do Online Reviews Matter?

Posted on April 6, 2012 by Nick Beske

You may be asking yourself if a lack of online reviews is costing your company business? With millions upon millions of people having a public voice on the internet, reviews can appear in many different places, ranging from industry-specific websites to personal blogs and every point in the middle. Believe it or not, it isn’t a local business’s website that leads to the majority of online sales – it’s the actual customer reviews that appear online. Actually, it’s a bit more complex than that as the reviews send people to the company websites, but let’s just be brief and say, “YES, it matters.” Continue reading →
